The Aim of the Festival
With the prestigious Golden Umbrella Award MediaMixx admires the excellence of media content. The glamour and the 15 years of tradition of the award are the greatest acknowledgement for the very best media content developers in the region of CEE and SEE.
Please read all regulations carefully before you fill in the entry form.
After filling the entry form the Regulations automatically will be considered as an official agreement between Mediamixx Group and the participant.

Competition
Participants: The Festival is open to each organization, television channel, independent producer or authorized distributor.Geographical zones: CEE and SEE region, especially from Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Russia, Albania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary, Czech, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, White Russia and Austria.
Period: All programs must have been launched for the first time between 1st of May 2008 and 30th of April 2009.
Entry deadline: 11th of May 2009
Dates and location
The 15th International MediaMixx09 Festival will take place in Albena, Bulgaria from Wednesday 3rd to Sunday 7th of June 2009. All entries will be shown online on http://www.mediamixx.info. The Golden Umbrella Awards Ceremony will take place on Saturday 6th of June 2009.Judging:
An International Jury made up of professionals from the television industry will select the award-winning entries.Each applicant admitted to the competition program has to make a presentation of the competition entry of not more than five minutes’ duration to the Festival Jury and audience (Please prepare video material in DVD format/slide show).
The programs will be judged on several criteria:
40% - Quality of production (styling, shooting, costumes, scenery) – 40 points
40% - Quality and attractiveness of the contents - 40 points
20% - effectiveness – (rates) – 20 points
Principle of evaluation is:
The entries which, by voting of the jury gather the most points (according to the defined maximum in each category), will be ranked best.
In all categories, which judging system has effectiveness focus, all entries must include as much information about the results and effectiveness as possible, ideally with official rates/ numbers of views etc.
The Jury's final discussion of the best ranked entries sets the basis for the awarding for a Golden Umbrella. The decision of the Jury in all matters relating to the awarding of prizes will be final and binding.
A member of the jury cannot vote for one of his programs.
Awards
In the competition for best TV content, the participants are competing for First Prize in each individual category, which will be given during a special Small Awards Ceremony. The Jury will adjudge, among all the participants in all categories, Golden Umbrella Award for Best TV Entertainment Program and Golden Umbrella Award for Best TV News and Documentaries, which will be given during the Gala Ceremony on Saturday 6th of June 2009. The jury will also give an award for most successful and noticeable debut of TV program during the year. The audience of the Festival website will vote and adjudge a Special Award for TV program, which will be given during the special Small Awards Ceremony.- First Prize for the best program in each individual category
- Golden Umbrella Award for the Best TV Entertainment Program of the Festival
- Golden Umbrella Award for the Best TV News and Documentaries of the Festival
- Most successful and noticeable debut of TV program during the year
- Special Award of the Audience (Award for the program with the largest number of viewers’ votes in the Festival website http://www.mediamixx.info)
- Special Award of Albena resort
Fees:
€ 250,00 entry fee for any entry in the categoriesBank transfers will be made to the Mediamixx Group Ltd. account specified in the payment form.
It is imperative that you cover all bank charges; otherwise, your entries will be refused. Please ensure that payment is made in EUR or BGN and arrives at our bank account within 5 days period after the correct filling of the entry form.
If the payment is not completed in the specified period the entry will be automatically canceled.
Entry requirements and general instructions for the applicants:
- Register on http://www.mediamixx.info
- Fill in the online participation form and give a short summary of your entry
- Use English language only
- Save the form
- Upload :
- *a trailer max 15 minutes (up to 700 MB - MPG,AVI,MOV,WMV or MP4 format)
- *PDF file of your Power Point presentation of 1500 words maximum, in English language, explaining/illustrating the entry and providing the following information:
- **introduction of the media product or program – (which media, timing, host, etc has to be described according to the media specifics – per category)
- **effectiveness figures – official rates, numbers of views etc.

- Fill in the online payment form your company details for invoice
- Send to the address of Mediamixx Group Ltd,(51, Evlogi Georgiev Blvd, Floor 4, apartment 6,1000 Sofia, Bulgaria) the following materials:
- *two copies of the original entry materials in DVD format for the purposes of the Jury sessions. The materials must be labelled in the following way: company, name of the program, duration in minutes, category and festival;
- *trailer up to 2 minutes in DVD format for the purposes of the Award Ceremony in case the entry is awarded.

- All requested entry materials must be received at the address of Mediamixx Group and through our website http://www.mediamixx.info, no later than 11th of May 2009
Additional remarks:
- All programs must be with subtitles in English. Programs in a language other than English, without subtitles shall be rejected.
- The maximum duration of each program should be 60 minutes
- The Jury will not be allowed to move entries between categories during the judging.
Legal remarks:
By completing the entry form, the entrants declare their consent for using all the materials and to broadcast, screen and exhibit a fragment or the whole material of the presented entry for informational publicity, as well as to broadcast, screen and exhibit the entry for public presentation within the framework of the competition program. The Festival will also have the right to use fragments of the programs in relation to Mediamixx’09 brand (events, advertisements, release of parts in radio programs, documentation, Internet, etc.) free of charge and without any possible future claims by third parties.These Rules are available in Bulgarian and English but if any disputes arise, the English version will prevail.
By filling out and signing the entry form the participant agrees to full acceptance of the conditions set forth in these Rules. ----
